Frequently asked questions
What is brandkind?
We are a community of brand and marketing professionals who give our time and effort in helping social enterprises add value to their company through marketing through pro bono or low bono projects.
How much does this cost?
brandkind offers low bono support to social enterprises—carefully scoped, high-impact work at a significantly reduced rate. The team prioritises what will make the biggest difference in the shortest time. There’s no fluff—just smart, strategic creative that delivers impact.
Pro bono support is given to select social enterprises, through our Probono Pitch Night happening 3x a year in different locations. With a small admin fee, we cover project setup and coordination.
Both models are built on mutual respect, shared success, and the belief that good brands deserve great support.
How do I know if I am eligible?
As long as you’re a certified social enterprise or a registered charity, you’re eligible for our low bono projects.
Still getting your registration sorted? No problem—we can still help out. We’ll also have an intro meeting where we’ll do a quick assessment of your goals and structure if you don’t yet meet the formal criteria.
Pro bono projects, on the other hand, depend on available resources and the outcome of our Pro Bono Pitch Night, where shortlisted organisations present their case to the Brandkind community.
How are you able to give low rates?
Thanks to a community-powered model that blends generosity with professional rigour.
brandkind is made up of a volunteer network of experienced strategists, creatives, and marketers who are driven by purpose, not just profit. Many of them donate their time, or take on work at lower-than-usual rates, because they believe in the causes brandkind supports.
That’s how we can offer seriously good work at a seriously kind rate, without cutting corners or compromising quality.
Why do you give low rates?
We offer low rates because we believe purpose-led organisations deserve access to great branding and strategy—without breaking the bank. Our community of professionals is driven by impact, not just income, and many generously offer their time at reduced rates to help good brands grow.
By keeping fees low and scoping work smartly, we make high-quality support more accessible while still respecting the value of everyone’s time and talent.
What is brand and marketing?
Brand and marketing effectively communicates the brand’s product and services to its existing and target customers.
With so many established companies right now, a successful brand identity will give our social enterprises a head start enabling them to sustain their business and pursue their cause.
Do you make logos and taglines?
We do more than that, we support organisations with brand strategy, logo design, taglines, and full visual identity systems – even naming! Whether you’re just starting out or refreshing an existing brand, we can help you craft a look, feel, and voice that truly reflects who you are and what you stand for.
It’s not just about a pretty logo—it’s about building a brand with meaning, clarity, and confidence.
Do you build websites or manage social media?
Yes—we do! Our community has grown 70+ strong, and with that, so has our capacity.
What started with brand strategy and identity has now expanded to include social media, website design, photography and videography, and even grant writing support. With such a diverse and talented group, we can tailor the right team for each project—matching your needs with the skills in our network.
Would you work for for-profit corporates who are doing community-focused projects?
Our core focus is on supporting social enterprises and purpose-led organisations.
For for-profit corporates, we can connect you with a senior, highly skilled member of the brandkind community who’ll lead the project independently at full market rates. We simply apply a small referral fee to support the platform and its mission.
Based on our structure, 50% of brandkind’s profits are donated back into supporting social enterprises with brand and marketing—so your project still helps us power good.
How many members do you have now?
We currently have 70+ active members who’ve committed their time and talent to helping out with brandkind projects this year.
In total, our network includes 100+ brand and marketing professionals—from strategists and designers to copywriters, marketers, developers and more. Each year, we check in with everyone to confirm their capacity, so we can match projects thoughtfully and respectfully. That way, we honour the fun, flexibility, and fulfilment we promised when they joined the community.
It keeps our work energised, sustainable, and full of heart.
